Who we are

We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.

Making Spirits Brighter was established in 1994 as a grassroots community organization to bring low-income students and their families together as a community. This event offers a family holiday experience to create happy family memories, a festive and balanced meal, and activities to bring the spirit of Christmas to the families as part of the annual Making Spirits Brighter Holiday event.

We now have impacted thirty different elementary schools across the Central Valley, ensuring that young spirits are always being made brighter during what may seem as a dark time for many families during the holidays.

Our mission is to provide an annual holiday event for low-income families with children in the Central Valley region.

Whether it is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we will make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re at as quickly as possible.

Our Vision

We want to provide designated services focused on bringing low-income families together despite any financial hardships.

Our entire team wants to see a world where every youngster struggling in any way feels able to reach out and look forward to programs/events that will fill them with joy. We want to spread out in every region within reason so we’ll be reachable to all.
